Typical children actively join in, strive for a shared view of the world and learn language while interacting with others in everyday situations. Children with complicated language problems (CLP) are those who experience language learning problems that are characterized by a combination of additional challenges such as autism, intellectual disability, and attention disorders. These children  may not actively join in and often find everyday situations too complex to learn language. While the lack of striving for shared meaning is often obvious, the significance of  their comprehension difficulty is often missed. The goal of CCCC is to provide an instructional framework for all adults interacting with children with CLP to create an environment for developing shared meaning, "coach" their comprehension and "create conversation" in the context of having fun sharing personal stories and retelling stories.
